Factory Licenses


If you wish to setup a factory, most probably a license has to be applied for and granted for a factory as defined and governed by the Factory Licenses Act B.E. 2535 (1992). There are some instances that a factory license is not needed.

The purpose for such licenses are to ensure the safety of not only equipment located within the factory, the use of such machinery, the safety of workers, and also the factory location itself in order to ensure the location is the correct location for such works performed and also taking into the environmental protections.

It is essential to first determine that a Factory as defined in the Factory License Act is any type of factory that requires use of a machine that requires five or more horsepower and having employed at least seven or more workers performing any of the following actions in the various types of factories that are listed in the Ministerial Regulations:

Manufacturing

Producing

Assembling

Packing

Repairing

Maintaining

Testing

Improving

Processing

Conveying

Storing

Destroying

There are three types of factories that can be identified as:

Factories that do not need a licenses

A.
Factories that do not need a license depending upon the kind of factory
B.
Factories that need permission or approval of such by notification
C.
Factories that to apply for licenses.
